FACS Journey Boxes

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our Journey Kits, a free new resource available from the University of Georgia Libraries available in August 2026!

The UGA Special Collections Libraries, in partnership with faculty from the UGA College of Family and Consumer Sciences, has created Journey Kits focused on fashion and textile history. Each kit is equipped with 8 modules; each module includes a lesson and hands-on activity connected to FACS Georgia curriculum standards. In many cases, we have included reproductions of primary sources from our archives to help strengthen connections between FACS standards and the history we help to preserve at the UGA Libraries. Our Journey Kits are free and available to check out to your classroom for 2-4 weeks; longer reservations will be considered upon request/availability. We do require teachers and students who use the kits to complete short pre- and post-use surveys that will give us a sense of their impact.
