Landmark properties, Inc. is an entity that specializes in financing, development, construction, and management of student housing communities all over the united states. First it must be noted that Landmark is most likely a subsidiary of a larger capital investment firm; but this is a matter of speculation, because business is entitled to privacy. The big investment banks, the real capitalists, are pervasive such that they are the common characteristic of the set of everything in the economy. Yet meaningful (i.e., legally significant) connections are impossible to confirm. This is done on purpose; and resigns us to a situation in which the real problem can never be implicated, even if we somehow managed to convince a reasonable judge of the injustice of Landmark. This, then, is accepted up front. There is still enough to mount a factual argument against Landmark – even if only in isolation.
