We started close to home,
looking at the student housing market in Downtown Athens, Georgia, and now we
find that this local problem has at least part of its explaination in the relationship that consists
between the big banks and the federal government. Of course, Landmark
is a national entity – with properties in college towns in 20 states. It comes
as no surprise, then, that—in terms of money
spent towards financial contributions to political campaigns and lobbying efforts—the National Association
of Realtors is second only to the U.S Chamber of Commerce.
