Acknowledgements

The Hargrett Rare Book & Manuscript Library would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the following people for their contributions to this exhibit:

-  The family of Wally Butts, who offered recollections of Coach Butts and their gracious support throughout the planning stages of this exhibit.

-  Mrs. Pat Fleming , daughter of Walter Ruark, who loaned her father’s uniform to be displayed as part of this exhibit.  Mrs. Fleming and her family have also generously agreed to donate this uniform and other artifacts from Walter Ruark’s life to our collections.

-  Phillip McClure, an undergraduate student in the Lamar Dodd School of Art’s graphic design program, was responsible for all graphics seen in this exhibit, as well as all other print, web, and social media advertisements.
